Burning the midnight oil ...

Well as sit here typing away, it's currently 0050 am, and I've still got some sorting out of my kit to do, ready for tomorrow's photography job :o(

Had a great day today .. busy, but great. Started off with a portrait photography shoot next door, at my neighbours and good friends, Steve & Edwina. Steve's mother, Mary had organised for the whole family to get together and wanted some photographs to remember the day because as I'm sure we can appreciate, it's quite a challenge getting everyone together in one place. All in all, I think there were fourteen people in total, and I guess we spent just under one hour together ... which I thoroughly enjoyed. I've got a little editing to get on with now, but I've attached a couple of shots I took of Steve & Edwina's daughter, Phoebe (I promised I would) for you to see :o)

Straight afterwards, my good friend Mark and I went went over to see James & Catherine Simpkin, whose Wedding we photographed a few weeks back to show them their photographs. In short, I couldn't have wished for a better reaction; so, James & Catherine ... thankyou x

Anyway, must dash ... just a couple of hours sleep would be nice before the early start in the morning.

Bye for now :o)

A bit of houskeeping :o)

Been sat at the computer most of today, finishing up on some editing before I start on a four day photo job on Monday. Anyway, here's a few more of the photographs that I took at Jim & Catherine's Wedding, which is nearly a month ago now. We'll be getting together this coming Sunday, to finally sit down and go through a slideshow with them ... I can't wait :o)

A couple more of Paul & Erin ...

Just thought I'd add a couple more shots in addition to the ones in an earlier post, from Paul & Erin's Wedding that I photographed yesterday.

Right ... now I really must get on with editing ...

Enjoy :o)

Paul & Erin's Wedding

Yesterday I was photographing Paul & Erin's Wedding with the ceremony being held at St Andrew's Church in Windsor followed by the Reception at the Coppid Beach Hotel in Bracknell, again assisted by my good friend Barry Payne who by now must see flash lights in his sleep :o)

As predicted the morning saw a down pour of rain but thankfully this held off for the afternoon so we were able to make use, albeit for just a short time, of the grounds at the Church. All in all, a really good day with plenty of laughs with some really nice people.

I've attached a few of the photos that I took yesterday to show you; and all that remains now is to get on with editing the remainder for when Paul & Erin' return from their honeymoon in the Maldives ... jealous? me? naaahh ... well, maybe just a little :o)

Off to a new life in Canada ...

I popped over to Heathrow Police Station today to take photos of a few of the guys for a poster I'm going to be putting together because of someone leaving. That 'someone' is a guy by the name of Alan Carragher ... a Sergeant who is due to retire imminently and then move to Canada along with his family, to begin a new life. Alan is one of those guys that people have nothing but good things to say about and will be sorely missed by many, so here's to you Alan ... I wish you and your family all the very best :o)

I'm a Godfather :o)

How happy am I :o) ... Yesterday was the one of the proudest days of my life when I became Godfather to my beautiful little nephew Rowan. Words cannot express how proud and honoured I am to be the little man's Uncle & Godfather ... it's a dream come true. I just want to use this space to say a huge thankyou to my Sister Sian and Brother in Law Andrew, for not just asking me to be Godfather but for bringing Rowan into my life xxx

Paul & Erin's Pre Wedding Shoot

Today I was out with Paul O'Connell and Erin Samaras on their Pre Wedding Shoot. Paul & Erin 'tie the knot' on the 21st June at St Andrew's Church, Windsor and I can't wait cos over the short time that I've got to know them, it's been plainly obvious that they're so right for each other ... which makes taking photos of them a breeze.

We spent little over an hour today in Windsor taking photographs, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Both Paul & Erin are great to work with and more than happy to stick with me when I start experimenting; which I tend to do quite a bit :o)

Anyway, I'm now getting on with editing their photographs so I thought I'd post a few here for you to see.

Enjoy :o)

Time with my "Bruv"

For far too long now I've been promising to take a trip up to Loughborough, Leicestershire to visit my good friend Raj and his family and take some photographs. Well, I finally got my backside in gear and made the trip up last Saturday and had a great time. As always, Raj his wife Jaz and two children Amerdeep and Taran made me feel incredibly welcome. I met Raj just under 4 years ago at Heathrow and he very quickly became a great friend. Some people when you meet them, you just 'hit it off', and that's exactly what happened with Raj and myself ... he became like a Brother, and when he moved away to Loughborough it made a big impact. Needless to say it was great to catch up over a beer (or two) before taking some photographs; I knew the built in 'Vibration Reduction' in my lenses would come in handy one day :o)

Anyway, here's some shots of Amerdeep and Taran ... enjoy :o)

Armed and Dangerous

Here's a couple of shots of a Metropolitan Police Armed Response Officer that I took today whilst over at Heathrow Airport. Four (4) Speedlights (flashes) were used in total to give this look, followed by a little tweeking in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Enjoy :o)

Back with the Karate Club ...

This morning I was over in Ealing, West London for a second photo shoot with the ELKAI Ealing Higashi Karate Club. On this occasion, I wanted to focus more on some hard lighting techniques and Michael, one of the instructors had the perfect look for what I wanted. There's quite a few other shots from the short time I spent with them, but here's a couple of Michael, who I have no doubt whatsoever is a great, friendly guy but believe me when he gives you 'that look' straight down the lens ... well, let's just say, if he'd have told me to jump, I'd have jumped :o)

James & Catherine's Wedding

This weekend has been quite busy to say the least, with a Wedding Shoot on Saturday and a Portrait Shoot today - tiring, but good fun :o)

On Saturday I was the official photographer at James & Catherine Simpkin's Wedding; helped a great deal by my good friend Mark. The day started off nice and early taking detail shots and 'getting' ready photos of Catherine at her home address which, with all the activity closely resembled Piccadily Circus :o) Then it was on to Putney, to Our Lady of Pity and St Simon Stock Catholic Church for the marriage ceremony and finally the reception at the Woodlands Park Hotel, Stoke D'Abernon, Cobham.

Here's a couple of shots from what was quite an emotional day ...

Enjoy :o)
