James & Fiona's Pre Wedding Shoot

Tomorrow, James & Fiona finally become Mr & Mrs and I have the great pleasure of photographing the big day which is being held at the stunning Luton Hoo Hotel, Bedfordshire. This is certainly a day I'm looking forward to ... an incredible location that is nothing short of a gift for a photographer, and a couple that are so right for one another. It's nice to know that regardless of the weather, the photo opportunities are endless .... 1000 acres of landscaped lawns, with a 60 acre lake and a stately home once used by members the Royal Family .... if anything, I think I'm gonna need a few more memory cards.

Needless to say I'll be posting a few photographs here from tomorrow's shoot over the next couple of days, so watch this space :o)

The photograph attached is one from James & Fiona's pre wedding shoot which we did earlier this week.

Corporate Photo Shoot

Thursday least week I spent some time with a bunch of people who work for a company called HRworkbench, based over in Reading to take a series of 'corporate' style shots that are to be used on their newly designed website amongst other things. I'm guessing we spent around 3 hours or so taking some portrait shots aswell as more complex group shots using a number of 'off camera' flashes.

All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable time spent with a really nice group of people who seem to have great fun working together.

Weddings 2008 Video ...

Hi All,

I've been working on updating my main website lately and am now looking at adding in a few videos; some showing a selection of photographs and a couple showing me out on a photo shoot. I guess the reason behind this is so that visitors to the site will get a chance to see what I'm like and how I work, which is real important when it comes to choosing a photographer ... especially if it's to photograph a wedding. ( Hmmm thinking about it ... is that such a good idea :o) LOL )

Anyway, here's a selection of photographs from recent Weddings that I've put together into a video to give you a taster of what's to come.

Enjoy :o)

Just Chillin'

Here are some photos from a shoot the other day continuing with the 'moody' lighting theme I've been using lately. These particular shots are of a guy by the name of Graham Herbert who plays the trumpet in several jazz bands that appear at venues across the UK.

There's nothing quite like having live music playing whilst taking portrait photos ... I really should start demanding it at every photo shoot :o) LOL

A couple more ...

Here's a few more shots from yesterdays photo shoot with Vince Callaghan ... enjoy :o)

ps> ... check out the low flying aircraft about to take aim in the second photo ... sorry Vince, how much did you say that leather coat cost again??? :o)

Windsor meets The Matrix

Hanging around in a filthy underground car park with the resident tramps arguing in the distance, cars racing round and nearly wiping you up and taking evasive action from all the pidgeons seemingly 'aiming for you' maybe isn't the kind of place you want to be at the best of times ... but that's exactly where I found myself yesterday on a photo shoot.

The idea behind yesterdsays shoot was to give the photos some real 'atmosphere' so that they could be used for CD artwork etc ... so what better place than an underground car park ... especially when the person you're photographing is wearing a £400+ leather coat :o(

The model / subject was a guy by the name of Vince Callaghan who maybe wasn't expecting to be in such a 'nice' place ... but when he told me he'd be wearing a long leather coat like Keanu Reeves in the film The Matrix ....... well you see, it's all about the location ... atleast that's what I kept telling him anyway :o)

A couple more shots of Sean

Due to all the positive feedback I've got from the physique shots of Sean (post below) I thought I'd add a couple more from when I saw him today whilst out and about.

Since the shoot, Sean has been in touch with the editor of Flex Magazine and it's now possible that some of the shots will be appearing in the January 2009 edition along with an article written by Sean about how age isn't a factor when it comes to getting in shape. I'll keep you posted with the progress on this so ... watch this space :o)

Have a great weekend

Hard work ... no more, no less !!!

A couple of weeks ago I was in touch with a good friend of mine Sean O'Reilly, who told me that after a 20 year break, he was entering a bodybuilding competition. No stranger to the stage, back in the late 80's early 90's Sean was known as the 'New Sensation' and was tipped as one of the UK best bodybuilders.

Famed for his ability to remain in excellent condition year round, Sean remains in demand by some of the World's best bodybuilders and professional athletes for training and dietary advice, and as if that wasn't enough is the owner of what must be one of the largest and best equipped fitness / health clubs in the South of England, 'Panthers' (So called as Sean is married to Helen ... Panther, from the original hit UK TV program Gladiators)

The photos attached are from a photo shoot I did with Sean a few days after the competition he'd entered where his physique and condition caused quite a stir.

'Hats off' to you Sean ... you're an inspiration!!!!

Back from France

Well as you can see I'm now back from holidaying in France having spent just under 2 weeks there sampling the culture, climate and food with the odd glass of wine or two thrown in for good measure :o)

With regards to photography, to be honest I didn't take half as many photos out there as I'd planned to .. probably cos I was being extremely choosy about what I shot. Anyway, here's a couple of what I'm gonna call 'extract' (because I don't know what other heading to put them under). They're actually shots of an old run-down barn that was opposite the Gite I was staying in. The barn itself would make a great location for an urban photo shoot ... hmmm, must think of a way to convince my accountant that another trip to France is needed :o)
