Urban Portrait Shoot in Windsor

Hi All,
Well it's certainly been quite a busy week taking photographs, but thoroughly enjoyable ... I mean, is 'work' really supposed to be this much fun ? :o)

Anyway, here's a couple of photos from an urban portrait shoot that I did in and around Windsor town centre a couple of days ago; thankfully the weather held off and only started to rain once we'd finished.

Enjoy :o)

Hi All,
As promised, here are some more photos of Brooke from this weekends photo shoot in Central London. This time, rather than post up individual photos I thought I'd show you them as a slideshow, so make sure your volume is up, click on the play button on the video below and enjoy :o)

>ps Depending on your download speed, the video may take a moment or two to start ;o)

London Urban Shoot

Well I must say that this last weekend was nothing short of awesome!!! 3 full days up in London for a model shoot - Friday spent scouting out locations, Saturday for the shoot and Sunday editing. The location for the shoot was near to the London Eye and Embankment London Underground Station ... an area where we spoilt for great lighting, reflection, texture on walls and so on ....

The model, Brooke was an absolute angel!!! Despite the rain and wind, she didn't complain once as we went from location to location and set up each shot. With me also taking photographs were two guys who've become real good friends, Mark Raffan and Mike Leach .. both great photographers from other parts of the country.

The main focus for the shoot was using natural light, but I couldn't resist getting my Nikon Speedlights out for some of the shots. One of them in an underpass, I put a blue gel over the flash head which created the most amazing vibrant blue light (see attached image).

Anyway, I'll post some more images at some point and maybe even an MTV style slideshow, so watch this space.

Cheers,Glyn

A Quick Post...

Hi All,
Gotta make this a quick one as I need to go out ... but I just wanted to let you know that the model shoot in London this past weekend was awesome!!! I'll write a more detailed post later today, but for now here's one of the photos. This one was taken in a narrow walkthrough at one end of the Millenium Bridge.

Bye for now :o)

Balancing flash with street lights...

Here's a shot I took around New Years Eve whilst passing through Beaconsfield - a village near to where we live. The idea behind this shot was to simply practice lighting a subject, in this case my wife Anne, with off camera flash and to also capture the lights behind her which were draped over some trees. The trick with a shot like this is to use just the right amount of power in the flash so as not to wash out the skin tones.

This coming weekend I'm going to be in central London photographing a model, so be sure to check back to see some of the images.

Enjoy :o)

Out on a recce...

Yesterday afternoon I was out on another recce looking for suitable locations that I can use for future Portrait and Pre Wedding Shoots. This time I ended up in a little village called Tring, Buckinghamshire, again with my good friend and willing 'stooge' Albi and his lovely wife, Claire.

Due to it being a little on the cold side, we didn't get to spend much time out and about before we retired to a Chocolatiere's for refreshments ... well that's our excuse anyway :o)

Out of only a few shots, here's a couple from the time we spent out and about ...

A couple more shots from the Aylesbury Urban Shoot...

After having been out on several photo shoots over the last few days, I've been spending some time this evening doing a little editing, so here's a couple more shots I took of my good friend Albi, in Aylesbury.

Once I've edited a few more photos, I'm going to do a little extra work on my new website which I'm really excited about and am expecting to have ready in the next few days.

Right .. must get on, so I'll catch up with you later :o)

Aylesbury Urban Photo Shoot...

This morning I was out in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire for an Urban Shoot; a good friend of mine, Albi Mancinelli kindly agreed to stand infront of the camera for me as we walked around the town centre and side streets.(I've attached one of the photos that I took, to this entry)

The reason for this was, to check out a local town as a suitable place for future jobs such as Portrait and Pre Wedding Shoots. At the moment I'm spending quite a bit of time scouting out suitable areas which is also a great excuse for getting in some extra camera time :o)

Ah well, the weekend's over and a new week is upon us, so have a good one, and remember .. it's only 352 days till Christmas :o)

2nd Lieutenant Richard Evans...

As promised, here's a couple of the photos I took yesterday of Richard Evans, who has now completed his Military Training and is now in post as a 2nd Lieutenant RMP at Aldershot.

I was with Richard for a couple of hours or so as I took photos of him in 3 of his uniforms. It's incredible to see the difference in Richard since I photographed last year before he embarked on his military training, and the pride his parents have in him is so evident you can see it in their eyes ... priceless!!!

Congratulations to you Richard, and all the best to you in your new post.

Blog Saturday :o)

Here's another shot of Steve Law that I took the other day whilst out in Windsor ...

This morning I was out taking photos of a guy by the name of RIchard Evans. I photographed Richard a year ago before he joined the Military but since then he's now gone through training and is a 2nd Lieutenant in the Military Police. I'll add some finishing touches to the photos that I took, and be sure to post some here on the blog for you to see a little later on.

I'm also out tomorrow morning in Aylesbury on an Urban Photo Shoot ... so be sure to check back soon to see some of the photos.

Bye for now :o)

First 'Shoot' of 2008

Well we're now into the New Year, so not wanting to waste any time I was out today taking photos in Windsor. These shots are of a friend of mine, Steve Law who despite the freezing temperatures and spot of rain, kindly stood infront of the camera for me :o)

Cheers Steve, and thanks for lunch too. Next time, it's my treat :o)
